Men Who Stare At Goats Movie

Director Grant Heslov is enrolling George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges in Men Who Stare At Goats, a movie adaptation of the book of the same name written by Jon Ronson. It is a satiric espionage thriller set inside a secret, psychic military unit. The odd title, rather strange, refers to crazy attempts to kill goats by staring at them!

The movie Men Who Stare At Goats is tentatively scheduled for December 2009. But it has filtered through Actor Stephen Root that an earlier release during Summer 2009 is possible.

Here below a first look at George Clooney as psychic soldier Lyn Cassady in Men Who Stare At Goats:

Plot - Synopsis:
"A desperate reporter (Ewan McGregor) in Iraq stumbles upon the story of a lifetime when he meets Lyn Cassady (George Clooney), who claims to be a former member of the U.S. Army's First Earth Battalion, a secret U.S. military psychic unit that employs paranormal powers in their missions.
Goats chronicles the two men's travels through Iraq and offers glimpses into the supposedly real secret Army unit tasked with creating soldiers with paranormal powers."

Cast:
- George Clooney as Lyn Cassidy, former member of the First Earth batalion, a military unit whose members are said to have paranormal abilities
- Erwan McGregor as a journalist
- Jeff bridges as Bill Django, the founder of the psychic soldier program
- Kevin Spacey as Larry Hooper, a former psychic soldier who is running a prison camp in iraq
- Rebecca Mader as Helen

The premise of Men Who Stare At Goats is as odd as its title! The whole thing is strangely appealing: I'm quite impatient to see how it will turn out at the end. if they strike a balance between comedy and war-spy movie then, with such a great cast, it could be a hit.

I'm already mesmerized by George Clooney's dorky mustache: there must be some psychic trick behind this! Looking forward to see Men Who Stare at Goats: and the sooner the better!
